Sameera Iyengar
Sameera inhabits the world of dramaturgy and acting where these act as the necessary provocation a society needs to shake itself out of its complacency. If all the world’s a stage, then who are our actors? And what has become of our traditions of oral storytelling, passed from one generation to the next? These are some of Sameera’s pivotal concerns that bridge the gap between `acts,’ and activism. Theatre is action. She has until recently been a director at the Mumbai based foundation Junoon, an eclectic space for art and innovation. It’s this varied tapestry of experience and perspective that Sameera brings to Sarfaroshi and we exploit it fully. When Sameera isn’t reframing the universe one act at a time, she is obsessing over her two children – a cat and a dog and makes everyone participate in this love via constant Facebook posts.
