Pinky

Sarfaroshi President, Naya gaon

Pinky puts her own financial distress which is considerable, on hold; so that she can extend herself to people around her. It’s the big dream she has that drives Pinky forward. One in which everyone, including herself, has a roof overhead, enough to eat, a set of clean clothes to wear. Just the basics would be good for now and Pinky fights hard against the cynicism all around, people who say it is impossible, dreams are for others. Pinky looks at the one room tenement she lives in, toothbrush sticking out of a gap in the wall, puts on her favourite pink dupatta and imagines anyway.
