Rights
Our goal is to build a solidarity of people that cuts across caste, religion and gender to give people better, more secure lives. In allying with us, communities must have better access to what is rightfully theirs, promised by the state.
We enable people who are not internet savvy to access various government schemes that are in any case their fundamental right. These schemes are only available to people who register to get their national digital ids or Aadhar cards made or their worker id made. These are made by the government in conjunction with various digital centres. What we do at the Sarfaroshi Foundation is to become the link between people and government schemes. We bring on board people from the digital centres to each village where we set up camps for people to bring their documents and get their various cards made.
Here’s a rough and ready list of the schemes this enables people to avail of.
- Health cards – The making of the government insurance cards or Ayushman cards that allows users to be insured up to 5 lakh rupees
- Labour cards – The state labour department issues cards and ties this up with the roll out of various schemes
- Widows pension – Women can apply for this if their deceased husbands had labour cards
- Retirement pension – This applies to registered working-class individuals
- Death claim – When a registered worker dies, the family can apply for a one-time claim.
- Wedding assistance claim – This is a one time claim applicable to working-class parents of a girl they wish to get married
