Four Days, Five Camps: Ayushman Cards for All

The Sarfaroshi Foundation exists so we can help people fight for their rights and use that to access what is their due. As soon as we found out that the Government of Uttar Pradesh has given people time till the 14th of August to get their Ayushman Cards made, we swung into action, double quick, to get people their cards. After all this ensures each card-bearer for up to 5,00,000 worth of medical treatment at many public and private hospitals. We organised five card-making camps in four days.

The first camp was set up at Sudha’s village in Nala. Sudha is the Sarfaroshi President for all eight villages we work in, across the administrative block of Kandhla. Camps were then also set up in Hurmanjpur under the supervision of Sarfaroshi village presidents Kusum and Kavita, in Sunna under the able ministering of Sarfaroshi village president Sama and Dangrol, supervised by the village president Sunita. A total of 97 cards were made.
